Dysport is a botulinum toxin type A wrinkle relaxer that offers an excellent alternative to Botox, and many of our guests at Lumiere Aesthetics love it for its quick onset and smooth, natural finish. Like all injectable treatments here, Dysport is provided under the medical direction of Dr. Elena Marchetti, MD. Because Dysport tends to diffuse a little more broadly, it can be especially well suited to treating larger areas such as the forehead.
What to Expect
We begin by studying how your muscles move and listening to your goals. Dysport is delivered through a series of tiny injections into the muscles that create dynamic lines, most often the frown lines between the brows and horizontal forehead creases. The appointment is brief, usually ten to fifteen minutes, and requires no downtime. A fine needle is used, and most guests tolerate the treatment comfortably without numbing.
Results
One of Dysport’s advantages is speed. Many guests begin to see softening in as little as two to three days, often a touch faster than other neurotoxins, with full results by about two weeks. You can expect your smoother appearance to last roughly three to four months. Dosing for Dysport is measured differently than Botox, which is reflected in the per-unit pricing, and Dr. Marchetti will calculate the right amount for your anatomy.
Good to Know
Dysport is a wonderful partner to volumizing treatments like Sculptra or Juvederm fillers, addressing both muscle-driven lines and age-related volume loss in one cohesive plan. If uneven tone or sun damage is also a concern, an IPL photofacial can complement your results. Please avoid rubbing the area, strenuous activity, and lying down flat for about four hours after treatment. Minor redness or small welts at the injection points typically fade quickly.
