Small visible veins, whether the spider veins on your legs or the tiny broken capillaries around your nose and cheeks, can be frustrating and self-conscious-making. Vascular laser treatment at Lumiere Aesthetics, performed under the direction of Dr. Elena Marchetti, MD, offers a precise, nonsurgical solution. The laser emits a wavelength of light absorbed by the hemoglobin in the blood, heating and collapsing the targeted vessel so it fades from view while surrounding skin is protected.
What to Expect
After examining the vessels you would like treated, we provide protective eyewear and apply the laser handpiece with its cooling feature for comfort. As the laser targets each vein, you may feel a quick snap of heat. Facial vessels often respond in one to three sessions, while leg veins may require more. Appointments are typically short, ranging from fifteen to thirty minutes depending on the area treated.
Results
Some vessels may disappear almost immediately, while others darken and then fade over the following days and weeks as your body reabsorbs them. Larger or more numerous veins may need a series of sessions spaced several weeks apart. Over time, treated skin looks clearer and more even, with the distracting red or blue lines diminished or gone and your natural complexion restored.
Good to Know
Expect temporary redness, mild swelling, or slight bruising around the treated vessels, which resolves over days. Avoid sun exposure before and after treatment, and wear sunscreen to protect healing skin. Because vascular laser targets redness and vessels specifically, guests concerned with brown spots or overall tone often pair it with an IPL photofacial, while those wanting texture improvement may add microneedling. Dr. Marchetti will design the right plan for your skin.
