IPL Photofacial

An IPL photofacial, short for intense pulsed light, is a wonderful treatment for guests bothered by sun damage, brown spots, facial redness, or visible small blood vessels. At Lumiere Aesthetics, IPL is delivered under the guidance of Dr. Elena Marchetti, MD. Unlike a laser, IPL uses broad-spectrum light that targets pigment and redness beneath the skin’s surface, gently correcting discoloration and revealing a clearer, more even complexion.

What to Expect

After cleansing your skin, we apply a cool gel and give you protective eyewear. The IPL handpiece delivers pulses of light that many guests describe as a quick snap, like a light rubber band. The face is treated in about twenty to thirty minutes. There is minimal discomfort and typically little to no downtime, which makes IPL a popular lunchtime treatment. For best results, a series of three to five sessions is usually recommended.

Results

In the days following treatment, brown spots often darken and rise to the surface before flaking away, revealing clearer skin underneath. Redness and broken capillaries gradually fade. With each session in your series, your complexion becomes more even, bright, and refreshed, with a healthy luminosity many guests describe as a lit-from-within glow. Because IPL does not stop sun exposure from creating new spots, ongoing daily sun protection helps your results last.

Good to Know

IPL treats tone and color beautifully, but it does not resurface texture, so guests concerned with fine lines or scarring may benefit from pairing it with microneedling or fractional laser resurfacing. IPL is best suited to lighter skin tones, and Dr. Marchetti will confirm your suitability during consultation. Avoid sun exposure and self-tanner before treatment, and expect a coffee-ground appearance of spots for several days afterward. Daily sunscreen is a must.

Investment: $350-500 per session. Call (480) 555-0142 to book a complimentary consultation.
